Announces More Than $546,000 Cash-On-Hand

Retired New York Police Department Detective and Nassau County business leader, Mike Sapraicone, today announced $596,000 in campaign funds and more than $546,000 cash-on-hand at the end of the third quarter, including Sapraicone for Congress and his leadership PAC.  This reflects the first two months of the campaign following Sapraicone’s announcement to run on July 25, 2023.

“I am extremely grateful for the overwhelming support being given to my campaign,” said Mike Sapraicone. “I am being offered the type of encouragement that redoubles my commitment to serve the residents of New York’s 3rd Congressional district who want a Republican on Capitol Hill to represent them, to secure the seat with integrity, and keep the majority in Congress.

“I have had the opportunity to speak with hundreds of my neighbors in the district, from life-long Republicans to those who have voted across the aisle in the past, and they all share rightful concerns about Joe Biden’s irresponsible, dangerous policies.” Sapraicone continued. “My message on issues like public safety, border security, and fiscal responsibility resonate with New Yorkers as thousands signed up for my email newsletter and hundreds of individuals who have generously supported my campaign.”

About Mike

After growing up in Richmond Hill, Queens, Mike Sapraicone began his 20-year law enforcement career in 1980 as a transit officer protecting millions of subway riders.  Mike was later promoted to first-grade detective—a rank in which he worked to bring high-profile criminals to justice.

Being at the foundation of New York City’s turnaround, Mike saw first-hand the impact of crime on the New York’s economy and the need for businesses to have a private security option. It was with this in mind that he started Squad Security to provide security services to New York-based companies, including the American Stock Exchange. Since retiring from the NYPD in 2000, Mike has grown this small business into a global security firm in the heart of Long Island and employed more than 600 active and retired members of law enforcement.

Mike Sapraicone served as president of the Seaford Union Free School District Board of Education and is Chairman of the Board Emeritus at Holy Cross High School in Flushing. He currently sits on the boards of the Museum of American Armor in Old Bethpage, Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation, Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital, Catholic Youth Organization, and the Columbus Citizens Foundation, for which he Co-Chaired New York City’s Columbus Day Parade.

Mike is a nationally-recognized security expert and has frequently appeared on NBC’s Today Show, Fox News, MSNBC and CNN.  He also hosted “Mike Sapraicone’s Street Smart” on Long Island News Radio.

Mike attended City University of New York John Jay College of Criminal Justice and served in the United States Navy, receiving an Honorable Discharge.

Mike has lived on Long Island for 32 years and currently resides in the Town of Oyster Bay with his wife Eileen. Mike is the father of five children and has five grandchildren.
